Nightview from Harajuku

This was taken a month or so ago on top of the building next to The Gap Store in Harajuku. It was taken with my brand spanking new Nikon D80, a fine looking piece of equipment that quite frankly has far more character and better handling the souless Canon 30D with its tinny click that is supposed to act as the shutter. Taken with a 50mm lens at aperture 1.8 ISO 400.

 

Gary's Happy Hour Bonnenkai

I will be doing another art performance on the 23rd December at Gary's Happy Hour Bonnenkai in Roppongi. I've included the details below.

Gary`s Happy Hour Bonenkai 2006!!!

Ring in the holidays and end the year in style at the 5th Annual Gary's Happy Hour Bonenkai on December 23! 

You won't want to miss this one as we'll be at a truly unique venue.  The historical TSK Building is going to be torn down in early 2007 and it will the the last chance to experience the fine architecture, nostalgic "time-slip" atmosphere, and general overall funky vibe of the place.


We'll have two floors for the event with one floor the "Rock Floor" and the other floor the "Chillout/Art Floor".  There will be live music on both floors and we've booked some really great bands in addition to having live art performances and exhibitions to stimulate all of your senses.

Last night there was a party at the MTV Cafe in Harajuku, an excellent space in the heart of the student  district famous for its costume loving inhabitants. Below are a selection of shots from the evening's festivities.

Metropolis Halloween Party

Its that time of year again, the end of October where bad taste becomes cool again, you can walk around naked covered in body paint and not get arrested, oh yeah and everyone suddenly wants to play with your lightsaber. Yes its the Metropolis Halloween Party, probably the biggest Halloween Event in Tokyo, as always held at Velfarre which happens to be one of the biggest clubs in Tokyo. I arrived there at around 9pm when the party was in full swing, just in time to drink up the last of the VIP champagne. Always a great night, one where pictures most definitely speak louder than any words, you'll see what I mean as you scroll down.
